Moving Checklist

Moving to a new home or office can be quite stressful without a moving checklist. A moving checklist will allow you to take care of everything without worrying if you have forgotten something or failed to take care of something important. Only a moving checklist will let you have a stress free and worry free moving, with so many things you have to think about, down to the last detail.
When you create your moving checklist, the first thing that you have know is to create one several weeks ahead of your scheduled move, if possible. And you should start with having first a file for your move, before you create a moving checklist. This file is where you are going to put all the receipts and important papers concerning your move. This will allow you to have access to them easily since they are separated from all your other documents and paper.

Now, the record and the important documents are the first thing that you should include in your moving checklist. Including your medical and dental records, school records, vet records, insurance and others, create a moving checklist of all your documents. You should be able to see if you have other things to take care of, such as changing your insurance, cancelling subscriptions or selling your membership, by creating this first item on your moving checklist. Now have another to do list, as you create your moving checklist. You can do this by listing down these additional things to take care of. On your spare time or after you move, these are the important things you have to do.

Now the next item in your moving checklist is your valuables. The things you consider irreplaceable, list them all down. Such as which ones you are going to carry with you, do a moving checklist as to how you are going to move them with you. This will be your guide when moving them. The people you have to notify for your move should be the next in your moving checklist. List them all down so that you will not forget anyone. In your moving checklist, you can start from your family, friends down to the people in your business circle to your newspaper delivery boy and others.

Now, separate what you can move, cannot move and will throw away in your moving checklist. To do this, you have to go over each room in your house and itemize everything into those categories. Once you have done this, schedule a time for throwing away those in throw away category. Also, to the things which you have decided not to move to your new home, you should now decide what to do with them. You can have a yard sale or you can give them to charity. Whatever you decide, schedule a time to do so. You can use the moving checklist to make sure you do not end up throwing away the other things when the time comes for you to throw away the other things. Similarly, use the moving checklist for your yard sale or charity. Box the items you will move with you to your new place, starting from the items you do not use often to the items you use everyday. Such as your bed sheet and pillows, in your moving checklist, separate those which you will use up to the last day of your move. These should be in a separate box and will be the last item you will load.
